Walking Exercise a start to a Healthy Life

Walking is one of the best forms of exercise for everyone. Anyone, regardless of age or fitness level, can do it everyday without risk of injury. Here are some walking tips for those who want to take up this excellent exercise:
* A good pair of shoes is indispensable. An ill-fitting pair that does not provide good support can cause muscle soreness and injury.
* Warm up properly by stretching your leg muscles for at least five minutes to prevent injury.
* Start slow and go for short distances at first, about 20-minute walk will do fine. Gradually build up your walking regimen over a period of six to eight weeks until you can easily walk for about an hour.
* Do not over exert yourself. Easy does it pacing is the key.
* Cool down and stretch again.

Great advice. Walking is so the universal fitness move. It is easy. fun. and the best part is …it is free
I power walked for a year when I was waiting for a stress fracture to mend and it was awesome. I am a runner by nature but I would go with walking as an alternative any time

Great article
Another tip when just starting a walking program
Maintain your walking routine on a daily basis and try to break your workout into three parts, with four or five minutes of slow walking followed by several minutes of brisk walking, and then another four to five minutes of slow walking to help you warm up and cool down during your routine. You should start out walking 4 to 5 minutes and increase it to 25 to 30 minutes after a few weeks. .

I don’t mind triceps having their own day, you could also build in some shoulder work at the same time. You need to allow more time for rest, rather than just Sunday, your muscles grow during recovery. Also, doing fewer than 8 reps with heavier weights is pretty great for mass-building.

First of all, great article! I’ve got a little question nagging me, I really enjoy the layout of your blog and tried to install the same layout on my Worpdress blog. Stil, there is some kind of strange coding error in the footer. Do you have any tips, what version are you using? Please PM me on Twitter @HealthNSweets or via e-mail.
